Adler Planetarium Free Days

Countless galaxies, unfathomable distances, exploding stars, diamond planets, black holes, there’s no way around it, space is freaking awesome! Come learn more at the Adler Planetarium during our Illinois Resident Discount Days—where Illinois residents receive FREE General Admission to the museum. General Admission provides access to all exhibitions and experiences (excluding the historic Atwood Sphere Experience and sky shows.*)

*On Illinois Resident Discount Days, Illinois residents may also upgrade to an All Access Pass at a discounted price and gain access to the Atwood Sphere Experience and any of our breathtaking sky shows.

Every Day Discounts

Illinois teachers (pre-K through 12) and active military personnel receive free general admission which can be applied to any admission pass. Please show proper identification at the box office to take advantage of this benefit.

Students and Seniors (with ID) receive $2 off admission (any admission).

City of Chicago residents, with proof of residency, receive discounts on all admission passes in recognition of the generous support from the city.

Museums For All

Museums For AllThe Adler is proud to participate in Museums For All, an initiative designed to make museums more accessible to families nationwide by removing financial barriers.

Any family that qualifies for state food assistance and is in possession of an EBT card (known in Illinois as a Link card) or a WIC ID, is eligible to participate. Eligible participants may receive a Basic Pass (which includes one show) for up to eight people at $1 per guest. Any guest who wishes to upgrade to an All Access Pass (unlimited shows) may do so for $5 per guest.

Cards or IDs must be shown at the Adler box office only to receive this special rate.

ASTC Travel Passport Program

Members of science centers and museums that are located more than 90 miles away from the Adler Planetarium and that participate in the ASTC Travel Passport Program are eligible for free General Admission to the Adler. Members must present their active membership card featuring the ASTC logo and valid photo ID at the Adler box office to receive this discount.
