Field Trips at the Adler

IMAGE: Outreach DomeComing in December, we will be offering a new student sky show for grades 2-5, called What's Up? This summer, we reopened our historic Grainger Sky Theater, the most technologically advanced planetarium theater in the world, with a show that will engage and inspire students grades 6 and up.

There's something for everyone at the Adler! Imagine your students gasping in awe as they gaze up at Chicago's night skies during a sky show, making critical choices about planetary exploration in one of our programs, or having their questions answered by an Adler scientist on site.

We want to help you meet your classroom goals. Each field trip program, show, and exhibition is linked to the Illinois State Benchmarks in Science. In addition we offer several resources ranging from teacher professional development workshops to Adler Discovery Check-Out Kits to help you and your students reach for the stars!

The Adler opened the same year that Pluto was discovered. That is why the dwarf planet is missing from our planet plaques in the lobby.
