Professional Development
The Adler is here to support educators and their professional development. Join us for workshops and our annual open house. Become a member of our Teacher Advisory Board for unique opportunities to share your expertise.
Customized Professional Development
Work with Adler educators to customize a professional development program for your group. Programs will be designed to meet your needs and may include resources to use on a field trip, Earth and space science lessons to introduce concepts in the classroom, exploration of Adler Discovery Checkout Kit units, and/or content and skills to strengthen teacher confidence in teaching Earth and space science.
Adler professional development can be delivered at the Adler Planetarium or at your school. Please email learn@adlerplanetarium.org or call (312) 322 0302 to discuss your professional development goals and to start planning your customized experience.
Teacher Advisory Board
The Adler Teacher Advisory Board provides local teachers with the opportunity to partner with the museum and other Chicago-area educators on a variety of projects.
The Advisory Board meets quarterly to discuss ways in which the museum can best serve teacher and student groups.
Participants receive ongoing professional development at quarterly meetings, discounts on other Adler professional development sessions, an insider look at new exhibits and programs, and a voice in the development of new programs.
