This calendar shows the blending of astronomy with medicine through astrology. The concentric circles designate which parts of the body are governed by each zodiacal sign, and to which illnesses a person born under a particular sign would be susceptible. Treatments for these illnesses are also based on astrology. In the corners are short passages discussing which maladies are more prevalent in certain seasons.
