Partner with the Adler

The Adler Planetarium is proud to partner with select Chicago Public Schools (CPS) High Schools including, The Air Force Academy HS, North Lawndale College Prep, ChicagoQuest and Noble Network Charters. We also partner with several cultural and youth development institutions in Chicago's Hive Learning Network including, YMCA of Metro Chicago’s Black and Latino Achievers Program, Yollocalli Arts Reach, the Digital Youth Network, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Shedd Aquarium, the Chicago Architecture Foundation, and the Art Institute of Chicago.

The Adler is a proud member of the Chicago Hive Learning Network.

Featured School Partners

Air Force Academy High School

The Air Force Academy High School (AFAHS) is a close community partner of the Adler Planetarium. Through this partnership, AFAHS students participate in frequent field trips to the Adler, take a sophomore astronomy course with an Adler educator, engage in an after school robotics team and contribute to the Adler as volunteers and interns.

North Lawndale College Prep High School

For several years, the Adler Planetarium has partnered with North Lawndale College Prep High School's (NLCP) Phoenix Rising Program. Phoenix Rising is an opportunity for NLCP’s students to experience the world beyond high school, whether through college visits, college summer programs or summer internships at institutions like the Adler.

Teen Internships

High School Interns Wanted

In collaboration with select CPS High Schools and other Chicago youth organizations, the Adler Planetarium places teens in professional museum roles that vary from positions in Visitor Experience and Learning, to basic Research. The goal of the Adler’s teen internships is to build real-world, transferable job skills, while providing students with authentic experiences in space science and STEM career trajectories. This summer, students will use digital media resources, online social network communities and traditional face-to-face working groups to impact Adler from the inside out.
