At the Adler
Spaceflight Gallery Guide

Objective:
To lead educational activities and provide exhibit interpretation for visitors to the Adler's latest exhibit, Shoot For the Moon, featuring the Gemini 12. Docents will provide an exciting and interactive experience to visitors by facilitating educational activities for, brief gallery tours, and sharing inspiring stories about the spacecraft and related spaceflight artifacts.
Responsibilities:
• Share information about the featured spacecraft, other artifacts, and the science behind space exploration.
• Answer questions and explain ideas presented in exhibits to visitors.
• Inform Volunteer Program Manager of schedule changes, conflicts and all happy experiences.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 15 years old. Should enjoy interacting with children, families, adults and groups. Have an interest in learning about science, particularly astronomy and physics. Be enthusiastic and comfortable about sharing new ideas with groups of people of all ages. Knowledge of the history of space flight is a plus.
Training:
Volunteers must complete the general orientation, interpretive training and specific content training. At their interview with the Volunteer Program Manager, volunteers will be made aware of upcoming trainings they may be able to attend.
Commitment:
• Volunteer 3 hours once a week or every other weekend. (Shifts are 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
• Make a minimum commitment of 1 year.
