March 15: Game Night!

From board games to arcade games and beyond, we’re pulling out all the stops for this game-changing Adler After Dark!

Don’t miss Chicago-based game developer, Jackbox Games, makers of hit party games such as Fibbage, Quiplash, Trivia Murder Party, and Guesspionage will be taking over the Johnson Star Theater for a massive gaming session where everyone can play along and compete for prizes, or check out one of several larger-than-life games around the museum (giant Jenga, anyone?)

For table-top fans, jump into a session with the folks from Dice Dojo who will be showcasing their favorite new board & card games. And make sure to visit the crew from your favorite party game—Cards Against Humanity—who will be playing the game and hosting their popular improv show Cards Against Humanity LIVE! (Please note the improv show add-on is now sold out.)

No game night is complete without local brews, so don’t miss our friends from Oak Park-based Kinslagher Brewing Company who will be sampling two of their favorite beers—Chicago Common and Prohibition Pilsner.

And don’t miss Dr. Josh Dillon, who will answer your cosmological questions and talk about his research on making the largest-ever 3D maps of our Universe using a huge new radio telescope being constructed in a remote South African desert. Josh, an MIT-trained astrophysicist at UC Berkeley, is a Chicago native and also happens to be a co-creator of Cards Against Humanity.

Please note that tickets to the Cards Against Humanity LIVE are extremely limited and will likely sell out.
Gather your crew and don’t miss this galactic gaming extravaganza at Adler After Dark.

What Others Says

“It’s all great fun. While I did not purchase the ticket due to the theme, I thought it was very nicely planned and very entertaining. I love viewing the planets and the using the telescopes and attending the shows and lectures. It’s the best $20 you can spend in the city.”

“As a parent, I often do not have the time during the day to visit one of my favorite museums without my children. Adler After Dark gave me an opportunity to spend an evening with my husband, explore subjects we love, and have an interactive experience (like our children enjoy at the museum). I also love the exclusive feel of the event. It is not too crowded, and the attendants have a chance to talk to the guests in small groups. It’s a great alternative/addition to the night life of Chicago.”

“It was so much fun. I went…not knowing what to expect and it was a total blast. We had a drink, danced, met some new people, got glam-rock face paint, checked out the star show and the exhibits. [It was] so much more than I thought the experience was going to be and I’m definitely interested in attending future events. I have been telling all my friends and showing them photos. Great job, it was a truly memorable experience.”
