Teen Summer Camps

Shoot For the Stars! | Adler Summer Camps

Explore Full STEAM Ahead Camps for Teens!

While our camps for younger children introduce campers to scientific ideas, these camps give older kids a chance to put those ideas to work. Full STEAM Ahead campers will have just as much fun as their younger counterparts, and they’ll also be challenged to use real science and creativity to explore our universe together.

COVID-19 Updates

Camper safety is our highest priority. As we monitor the pandemic situation, we are taking all necessary precautions, following the science, and basing our decisions on guidance from local and state officials; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

At this time, camp sessions occurring between June 22 – July 10 have been cancelled. Registration for all remaining camps is currently on pause as we take time to determine if they can be held safely.

If your camp session has to be cancelled by the Adler you can:

  • Request a full refund
  • Donate some or all of your registration fee to support the Adler in this difficult time

If you choose to rescind your registration for an active camp, we’ve extended the cancellation deadline to 10 days prior to the start of your camp. Before that time you may:

  • Request a 90-percent refund
  • Donate some or all of your registration fee

Astro-botics Camp (Entering Grades 6-7)

Challenge yourself this summer! Telescope viewing, lunch by Lake Michigan and cutting-edge sky shows—all unique to the Adler—are the perfect setting for Astro-botics. Based on age and ability, campers will be exposed to the process of designing, building, testing and redesigning as they use multiple types of robotics to overcome escalating challenges. They’ll make connections between the robotic programming they’ve learned and the many types of robotics used in space exploration. Astro-botics is collaborative in nature; campers will work together in pairs or small groups to conquer each robotics challenge.
