School Field Trips

Get ready for a stellar field trip experience.

You can book for school groups all year long! The Adler Planetarium has self-guided school group field trip options throughout the year during our open public hours. During the school year, our out-of-this-world Chicago museum offers dedicated Field Trip Days for school groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year (October-May), where the museum is only open to field trips and school groups.

Booking Summer Field Trips (June-September)

In the summer, we are open every day except Wednesdays for field trip groups!

Booking During The School Year (October-May)

On Field Trip Days (Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the school year), the museum will be open from 9:00 am–2:00 pm exclusively to PreK–12 school groups. On days that are not designated as Field Trip Days (Non-Field Trip Days), school groups explore alongside the general public, which can result in our exhibitions and shows getting crowded and selling out.
