Filming & Brand Partnerships

Three rectangular photos. The first features Ryan Gosling and Damian Chazelle at the press junket for First Man with a projection of the Moon behind them in the Grainger Sky Theater. Middle is a still shot of the exterior of the Adler showing the dome and front steps with people walking up to the Planetarium with umbrellas. This is a scene from Shining Girls, an Apple TV+ series that was shot at the Adler and the Adler was written into the script. The last picture features "Ordinary Joe" lead actor playing a guitar at night in the solarium for the NBC series, Ordinary Joe.

Commercial Filming and Brand Partnerships at the Adler

As the first planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, the Adler boasts an iconic art deco building situated against a breathtaking backdrop of the magnificent Chicago skyline and the majestic shores of Lake Michigan. The Adler and its surrounding property offer the best views the city has to offer, and make for an impressive shooting location for your next commercial filming endeavor.

Whether your project needs an exterior skyline shot, a trip to the stars using state-of-the-art projection capabilities in one of our historic dome theaters, or a full museum rental to transform our historic building into a memorable feature film set or a backdrop for your next product launch, the Adler has an experienced staff to help meet your needs.
