2024 LOOK BACK REPORT
What did you see in 2024? Did you witness the total solar eclipse, or take photos of the aurora borealis? Simply marvel at the moon or trace constellations in the night sky? Looking up fills us with an overwhelming sense of awe, wonder, and connection. That’s why we’ve spent 2024 connecting people with the universe and each other through new exhibits and experiences, our growing youth programs, and cutting-edge research..
As we reflect on the past year of connection and reach, we are grateful for the steadfast support of our community. With your partnership, we’ve helped millions of people explore our universe—from our museum, from public spaces throughout the city, and from homes and backyards around the world.
2024 was a year for wonder and discovery, with a new exhibit and a new sky show connecting the people of Chicago to the universe. Below is a recap of this year’s highlights.

Organizations & Membership
The Adler Planetarium is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and a member of the American Association of Museums, Association of Science-Technology Centers, and Chicago’s Museums in the Park consortium of institutions located on Chicago Park District land.
As a non-profit organization, The Adler Planetarium publicly discloses its financial statements and reports.
